The series has been compiled to expose young learners to works of classical and contemporary poets from all over the world. Each book in the series encourages learners to develop a love of poetry and learn the art of literary analysis by exposing them to age- appropriate poetry on a wide range of themes.Selected Poems Book-I has been compiled with the express purpose of providing our young learners, works of classical and contemporary poets from North America, Europe and Asia. The book projects an array of thoughts and emotions and consists of ideas and language which is strong and varied enough to have an impact on the writing skills of learners. A sincere attempt has been made to include different themes and genres to expose students to a variety of subjects and writing styles of famous poets through the centuries. This book encourages learners to develop love of reading in general and also develop the art of literary appreciation. Learners can practice the discussion questions and activities where an array of challenging questions has been set starting from lower to higher order questions. The exercises have been carefully set to encourage young learners to express their own opinions. Colorful illustrations have been carefully set for each poem to give the feel of the setting to the young readers.
